Florensis Cut Flowers expands production facilities in Rijsenhout

29 MRT, 2018 Florensis Cut Flowers expands production facilities in Rijsenhout

Florensis Cut Flowers (FCF), Europe’s largest and market leading supplier of high-quality cut flower starting material from seed, is further extending its production facilities for young plants. On Tuesday 27 March, Adriaan Vonk, Director Domestic Production & Florensis Cut Flowers, signed the tender for the construction of the new greenhouse with a floor area of 13,000 m2. The greenhouse will be built by Bosman Van Zaal in Aalsmeer (NL) and the design and fittings were worked out in consultation with horticultural consultants AABnl.

FCF’s sales of cut flowers in the Dutch and export markets have grown massively in recent years. Besides strengthening its position in Matthiola and Antirrhinum cultivation, it has seen a particularly rapid rise in demand for Lisianthus both at home and abroad.

To plan for the future and to accommodate this substantial growth, the new greenhouse in Rijsenhout (NL), which is specially designed for growing Lisianthus, will be put into operation at the end of the year. This greenhouse will have a cooling system, 180 mmol lighting and optimised screening and heating systems. The expansion will enable FCF to supply uniform Lisianthus plants of the very highest quality all year round.
