AAB is advising Corn Bak on the sale of its Bromelia operations

Anthura and Corn. Bak have entered into a binding agreement for the acquisition of Corn. Bak’s bromeliad breeding and propagation activities. With this move, Anthura is further expanding its position in the bromeliad market, whilst Corn. Bak will focus entirely on carnivorous plants, foliage plants and new activities in the field of seed treatment.

For Anthura, the acquisition represents a valuable addition to its existing Bromelia range. By expanding its genetics, knowledge and expertise, the company expects to be able to serve its customers even better and to further accelerate the development of new varieties.

For Corn. Bak, the transaction represents a strategic decision to focus. At the same time, the knowledge, genetics and product range built up over the years will be retained for the market. Both parties will be working together in the coming period to ensure a smooth handover, so that customers and suppliers can continue to rely on quality and security of supply.

The acquisition demonstrates how specialisation and economies of scale can go hand in hand within the horticultural sector. By making strategic choices, companies can strengthen their market position whilst creating scope for further innovation and growth.

AAB’s Corporate Finance department advised Corn. Bak throughout the entire sale process. The team provided support in preparing for the sale, selecting the buyer, conducting negotiations, carrying out the due diligence process and drafting the final agreement.
